The problem has always been the lack of material. Several years ago, I wrote a booklet called After the Hunt. It is designed to lead a new believing hunter through the first 30 days of his salvation experience. It is in the language of the hunter. No big religious words, just down-to-earth truths that will help him get a strong foundation. The 30 days are broken down into four, four-week periods with some basic action steps each week. These actions steps, however, are not meant to overwhelm. They are simple things like buying a Bible and attending a worship service and finally being baptized.

“THE WORK STARTS AFTER THE SHOT”

Big game hunters are familiar with this phrase. The shot is the easy part. The hard part is everything after that. It’s the same for us after we become a Christian. After the Hunt is designed to take you from the day you accepted Christ, through the first 30 days. This is the hard part, but it can be the most enjoyable time as well.

The plan of God for your life was not completed when you received Christ. That’s the moment it began.

God now begins to work in your life according to the plan He has specifically for you. He does the work. You and I are to simply make ourselves available to Him to do as He desires.

Since we will never be perfect, He will continually work on us our entire life.

THE FIRST 30 DAYS

These are crucial after a person becomes a follower of Christ. What he or she does during this time can greatly impact their Christian life for years to come.

That’s why someone has thought so much of your decision to give you this booklet. They want you to have the right start.

The material that follows will take you through the next 30 days. These 30 days will be broken down into four weeks. During each week, I will give you a short lesson and then you will have one or more things to do.

My promise is that each lesson will be brief and hunter friendly. And I promise that each action step (thing to do) will be simple.

The reason this is important is because I realize you are a new child of God. In fact, the Bible calls you a baby in Christ. It’s like teaching someone to hunt, who has never hunted before. They must learn the basics and have the essentials before they go into the woods.

These 30 days will be the basics and essentials for you new life in Christ.
