Outdoor Truths Circle Event

Our event sponsor is John Hunter Home Builders in Flower Mound Texas, and our prize sponsor is Cowboy Resources Corporation in Midland Texas.

This was our third year for the Outdoor Truths Golf Circle Event. 
9 guys. Three teams. One winner.

I was a little anxious about this particular Circle Event. Lots of new guys who I had never met and who had never heard a lesson from me. I don’t consider myself the greatest speaker, so you can imagine the trepidation I had before speaking to guys who, like the rest of us, need help, hope, and encouragement. And I LOVE to encourage. Jimmy Ray was our host once again. I love JRay. We give each other a hard time – all the time- but we are a pretty good team. And at these events, the host has the hardest job. Not only did he play two rounds of golf, but he made sure everyone else’s week was full of fun, food, and fellowship. Thanks Jimmy. We also had a few returners. Jim, Randy, Robert, John, and Joel had been to one of our golf events before. I was SO glad they came back. Devan, Brent, Jerry, and Drew were first timers. (I sure hope these guys had a good time because they sure were fun to be around.) Friday and Saturday started with breakfast and a lesson. I taught on being disappointed with God. (Our subjects are real) The input of everyone was also real and palpable. I love when people are transparent.

After our lesson, it was off to the Heritage Ranch Country Club. It was a really, really nice place. The teams were picked randomly, and they were so even that all three teams tied on both days. Now that made for some good competition. Speaking of competition, after the golf we had some intense corn-hole tournaments until late into the night. And also some good conversations late into the night. These guys were great.

This is slowly becoming a favorite Circle Event. We have already made plans for next year. And I hope to see all these guys again. New friendships were made. Stories were shared. Spiritual growth happened for us all. And it all happened around good food, golf, and a few days enjoying each other.
