Dove Circle Event – September 11-14, 2025

Sponsored by

Our 3rd annual Dove Hunt Event was held in Texas, on September 11-14, 2025.

I’m one week back from the Outdoor Truths Circle Event Dove Hunt. I know I say it all the time, but this was really one of the best weekends of the year. There were 12 of us and 5 had their first experience at one of these events. Jason and Dan absolutely did a phenomenal job with food. And they were always working to make everyone have a great experience. I mean, our nightly meals included deer Spaghetti, stuffed deer meatloaf and smoked brisket! If that is all we did together, it was enough. The food was 5 star quality. Chase also was instrumental in lining up places to hunt. And he too hit a homerun. Our last estimate was well over 150 birds that were killed. Chase worked hard to provide us with a good hunting experience. Once again, I think I averaged one bird per box of shells. I swear I believe that Jason and Dan see that I have a gun with a crooked barrel, because it can’t be my shooting. Lol.

Kenny has been to several events. His son Nick has attended before as well. But this time they brought the other step brother/son Jeff. It was so neat to watch these guys do guy things together. And me and Jeff should have won the cornhole tournament had Jason and Mike not cheated. I mean they must have cheated. I didn’t see them cheat but if that rag tag duo won, there had to be something shady going on.  I knew Mike but had never met him in person. He is such a great guy. He also talked his brother Rick into coming as well. Again, another neat deal. If I could explain Rick I would just show you a picture of Brock Lesner with a beard. It’s like you probably don’t want to mess with this dude. Big ain’t gonna describe it properly. But such a great guy as well. These two brothers killed a bunch of birds.

And then I got my buddy Aaron back.  He didn’t have to travel far to get to our event. This is his 3rd or 4th one attending. I love that big guy. He and I just get along. He and Chase teamed up to down a bunch of doves as well.

And the traveling prize goes to Keith and Bryan. This was their first event. They drove all the way from Colorado. I met Keith through our Tuesday morning zoom. (he’s a staple there) But the weekend was my first time meeting Bryan. These fellows were such a blessing. And Keith is working on his own Circle Event for next year.

Last of all, I enjoyed teaching my lessons. I wanted to remind these guys that God uses flawed people and people who have labels. We learned these lessons from Rahab and from David. Rahab was a harlot but then became mother to kings. David’s men were in trouble, in debt, and discontented, but they believed their purpose was bigger than their problems. I’m glad God has men like the ones at our dove hunt to use. They are perfect for whatever God needs done.

I want to thank my friend Steve Castle and Cowboys Resources in Midland Texas for being our event sponsor. Don’t delay in signing up next year for our events. You’ll be glad you came.
