Golf Circle Event April 16-19, 2026

Nine of us showed up for our annual Golf Circle Event in Brownwood Texas. Three of our openings were not filled. Those three guys missed so much fun. I’m telling you this because I know this will not happen again. This was too good. And the whole lake and fishing experience was too good. And the golf was too good. And Jim’s lake house was too good. And the food was too good. And it will fill next year because we’re doing it again at the same place. And these guys want to come back. Jimmy and Jim were great hosts. Jimmy had a big breakfast each morning and Jim handled the evening meal. Bacon and brisket. And then we had a big fish fry on our last night there. As for the golf, it was fun and competitive. Two teams playing for bragging rights. And wouldn’t you know it, but our two new guys (Michael and Bucky) were extremely good golfers. And I think they had a great time at their first Circle Event. Randy, Devan, Joel, and Brent have become golf event regulars. (Jim and Joel won the gift cards) I love these guys and always look forward to seeing them. They too are good golfers. (I think I’m pretty much the only terrible golfer)

When we weren’t golfing, some of us were fishing. And we caught a bunch of fish. Jim has the greatest mancave ever. It has all the requirements plus a hole in the floor where you can fish while watching the ball game. Check out the pictures. It’s crazy!

As always, I taught twice during our event. No matter what lesson I give, the goal is to always be an encouragement to these guys as they navigate their faith. I’m just thankful they let me join in their journey. They bless me.
