We made it to Concan. And it was great! We showed up on Thursday night and immediately started a cornhole tournament while we anticipated the next two days of golf. What we didn’t realize is that after the next two days of golf, we were going to be too tired to play cornhole again. But that was a small price to pay, because we had a blast at the Rio Valley Ranch and Golf Club.

We started at 8:00 am each morning with our lesson. I spoke one morning on encouragement and the next was my Easter message to the guys. Both were a privilege for me. On the second day, we drew for our Dick’s Sporting Goods gift card, and …. Was the winner. We also gave away tubes of golf balls for the next 3 runners up.

Even though all these guys had been to a Circle event before, some had not met one another, and I had not seen some of them since last year. I tried to up my golf game to keep from being too embarrassed, but I think I only managed to do that by a couple of strokes. But we had some good golfers. The first day, the temperatures hit the low 90’s. On the second day, it only reached the 70’s with gusty wind. We enjoyed both days not only on the course, but from the beautiful place we stayed in. Jimmy Ray (JRay Rental) was the sponsor of the event and the host. The only time he stopped cooking was when he was playing golf. I also really appreciate how Randy and John jumped in to help. As did others. Jim Horton is a friend of the ministry. The Lindsey Horton Memorial Scholarship provided our gift card. And Jimmy Ray was the winner! The Lindsey Horton Memorial Scholarship was started in memory of Jim’s daughter and gives scholarships to nursing students. I love these guys. They drove several hours to attend. Devan came from Florida. Jimmy Ray, Joel Shelton, Kenny Davis, Brent Sevedge, Randy Seawright and Jim Horton drove from west Texas. And Ken Watson, John Davis, and Robert Powel came from central Texas. Concan Texas and the Rio River Golf Club were worth it. If you missed this year’s event, watch for next year’s.
